Local email marketing can be defined as reaching out to people in your area who has a want or need for your product or services. You offer them something valuable in exchange for their email address then you put them onto a list that you reach out to regularly to offer more of your product or services to. 

How often you email your list is entirely up to you. It can range from once a week to once a month, but whatever you choose, you should stick with it. These are targeted prospects who have a need for what you’re offering. Stick with a schedule, and they’ll look forward to hearing from you. 

What’s wrong with traditional advertising? 

There is absolutely nothing wrong with traditional advertising but if you’re a small business you could be throwing money down the drain. Traditional advertising is dependant on the right prospects seeing your ad, then taking the initiative to find you. As you know, that doesn’t always happen. 

Local email marketing gives them something of value in exchange for their contact information. They don’t have to do anything, or remember anything. All that’s required is that they enter their email address and accept your offer. 

Is local email marketing right for me? 

It depends. Is traditional advertising costing you a lot and you don’t get a high ROI? Do you have trouble targeting the right prospects for your business? 

Local email marketing guarantees that everyone on your list is an interested prospect wanting or needing what your offering. If they weren’t they wouldn’t have responded to your offer in the first place.

Marketing to them on a regular basis could be very profitable in the long run, and it might be worth giving it a try.
